Between 2005 and 2008, Reinhard Stammer went through a period of artistic transformation in which curiosity often became more important than certainty. The paintings of these years reflect a search for new forms of expression and a growing freedom from conventional expectations. Many of the ideas that would later become characteristic features of his work first emerged here – sometimes merely as a suggestion, sometimes already with remarkable clarity.
