Since 2021, the visible world in Reinhard Stammer’s paintings has increasingly begun to dissolve. Forms emerge only briefly before dissolving again into layers of color, traces, and gestures. The works inhabit a space between memory and imagination, presence and absence. Rather than depicting reality, they evoke its echoes—fragments of experience that resist clear interpretation and remain open to the viewer’s own associations.
